Super Bowl Media Day: Seahawks Review Season, Prepare for Final Test

San Jose – Super Bowl week has officially kicked off and the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks took the media spotlight in San Jose ahead of Sunday’s title game. Amid flashbulbs and national scrutiny, conversations quickly turned to past rivalries, season-defining moments and the road that brought them to this moment.

Despite suffering a lopsided loss to the Seahawks in the Divisional Round, the San Francisco 49ers remained a factor in a tightly contested NFC race throughout the season. The defeat ultimately ended the 49ers postseason run, but several players noted that it did little to erase memories of how formidable the team was over the course of the year.

Seattle’s wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba reflected on his development this season and the factors that have turned him into a consistent offensive threat. Defensive tackle Leonard Williams pointed to the Seahaks early season loss to San Francisco as a defining moment that helped shape the team’s identity, while cornerback Devon Witherspoon emphasized that the rivalry remains one of the league’s most intense, regardless of the margin of victory when the teams meet.
