Oakland – Marcus Jensen, the Quality Control Coach for the Oakland A’s, has been with the organization for nine seasons. A former player himself, Jensen began his coaching career in 2009 within the A’s minor league system. After the 2014 season, the former catcher was promoted to hitting coach for Oakland.
Reflecting on his roots in Oakland, Jensen shared some of his fondest memories as both a player and coach.
Another Oakland native, Marcus Semien, now a shortstop for the Texas Rangers, also spent five seasons with the A’s. A UC Berkeley alumnus, Semien expressed his sadness over the current state of baseball at the Coliseum, recalling relationships and cherished memories from his time in Oakland.
