Jonathan Kuminga, LoveLife Foundation Host Holiday Jingle Drive for Bay Area Youth

San Leandro – Jonathan Kuminga, a forward for the Golden State Warriors, partnered with the Love Life Foundation, an Oakland-based nonprofit founded by Donald Lacy, to host the Jonathan Kuminga Jingle Drive, a holiday shopping experience designed to support local youth and families ahead of the holidays.

The event took place Sunday evening at Walmart, transforming the store into a festive, community-centered space focused on giving back. The Jingle Drive was created to uplift Bay Area families by providing access to gifts, clothing, and essential items while fostering a joyful holiday atmosphere.

Each participating child received a $100 gift card to shop for items of their choice, news that sparked visible excitement throughout the group as they raced through the aisles selecting gifts. Before the shopping spree began, students and families were treated to pizza, drinks, commemorative Jingle Drive T-shirts, and arts-and-crafts activities that set the tone for an evening rooted in celebration and care.

Kuminga shopped alongside the students and their families, engaging directly with the community and reinforcing the event’s mission of connection and generosity. The evening reflected a shared commitment by Kuminga and the Love Life Foundation to invest in local youth, create lasting memories, and spread holiday cheer across the Bay Area.

The LoveLife Foundation is an Oakland-based community organization committed to promoting life and saving lives through leadership, education, and community revitalization. Founded in November 1997 by Donald Lacy in memory of his daughter, LoEshe Adanma Lacy, the foundation’s mission is rooted in creating safe, empowering opportunities for at-risk youth.

Through educational and vocational programs, the LoveLife Foundation helps young people envision a future filled with possibility. This year’s annual gala, hosted by actor Sterling Brown, raised $185,000 to support scholarships and youth development programs, furthering LoEshe’s enduring legacy.
