San Francisco – The Warriors delivered an impressive performance, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 121-113 despite missing their sharpshooter Stephen Curry, who sat out due to knee tendinitis. Golden State also faced adversity when Jonathan Kuminga exited in the second period with a right ankle sprain and did not return.
“It’s a sprained ankle,” said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. “We’ll have more tomorrow. It’s not going to be a day-to-day thing; it was a significant sprain. We’ll just have a report tomorrow once we get a better feel for it.”
At the 2:27 mark in the second quarter, Kuminga landed awkwardly on his right foot and fell to the floor before heading to the locker room. He did not return to the game, finishing with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Despite coming off the bench, Kuminga has been playing some of the best basketball of his career this season, making his absence a significant loss for Golden State.
Andrew Wiggins struggled early, scoring just 2 points on 1-for-6 shooting before taking a hard bump from Desmond Bane on a drive to the basket. That moment seemed to ignite a spark in Wiggins, as he went on to score 18 points in the third quarter, including three 3-pointers. Wiggins finished the game with a game-high 24 points, leading all scorers.
The Warriors sank an impressive 23 three-pointers without Curry in the lineup. Despite Golden State maintaining control for much of the game, Memphis managed to fight their way back, taking advantage of missed shots and turnovers to narrow the deficit to just two points at 46-44.
Lindy Waters III sparked the second quarter with two three-pointers and a layup, setting the tone for a balanced team effort. Contributions came from across the roster, helping the Warriors close out the third period with a 92-86 lead. With fewer turnovers and a stronger defensive presence on both ends of the court, the Warriors demonstrated key adjustments and resilience throughout the game.
Tonight marked the first time since 2015 that Golden State recorded back-to-back games shooting at least 53% from beyond the arc. Waters III tied his season high with four three-pointers (previously achieved on 12/15 vs. DAL), contributing to his seventh double-digit scoring game of the season.
Dennis Schröder posted 17 points, setting a new season-high as a Warrior, surpassing his previous best of 15 points recorded on 1/2 against Philadelphia.

Curry out tonight against the Grizzlies
After scoring 30 points in his last game against the 76ers, Stephen Curry will sit out tonight’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to recurring knee tendonitis. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the media before the game, discussing Curry’s status and how often he might rest moving forward:
“Not necessarily for the rest of the year but during this stretch where the knee tendonitis has been a factor. The training staff feels strongly that for right now it makes the most sense to not play him in back-to-backs. But that could change as we go.
We don’t want this to be a regular thing and we’re hoping this will change soon, but for right now it depends on how he feels as we go.”
