San Francisco – Stephen Curry added another piece of hardware to his growing collection of awards at the 74th NBA All-Star Game, hosted in San Francisco, home of the Golden State Warriors. It seems only fitting that Curry would win his second All-Star MVP.
This year, a new format was introduced for the game, with four teams competing for one prize. The team that reached 40 points first won the game. The four teams included TNT’s analyst teams: Shaq’s OGs, Kenny Smith’s Young Stars, Candace Parker’s Rising Stars, and Chuck’s Global Stars. Shaq’s OGs consisted of veteran players, including Curry, who helped lead them to victory.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (Shaq’s OGs) is the recipient of The Kobe Bryant Trophy as the 2025 Kia NBA All-Star Game MVP. For two games, Curry finished with a combined 20 points and 10 rebounds, leading Shaq’s OGs to the championship in the 74th NBA All-Star Game.
In the MVP voting, Curry received 12 out of 14 votes. Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Shaq’s OGs) and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Chuck’s Global Stars) each received one vote.
Two of the NBA’s biggest superstars, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, will miss tonight’s game due to injuries. This marks the first time in 21 years that James will miss an All-Star Game as a starter, an incredible streak coming to an unfortunate end. James also sat out Saturday’s practice and was unavailable to the media.
“I was hoping it would feel a lot better this morning, but it was not where I wanted it to be James said of a nagging ankle injury. “With 30 games left and us (Lakers) trying to make a playoff push in the wild, wild West, I felt like it was very important for me to kind of take care of myself and understand what’s coming on [down the stretch].
