49ers Trim Roster To 53

The San Francisco 49ers made their final cuts today to reach the 53-man roster. There were some surprises, but many of the released players are expected to land on the practice squad, so their journey isn’t over yet.

Both backup quarterbacks, Carter Bradley and Tanner Mordecai, were waived today.

DL Yetur Gross-Matos has been activated off the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List. CB Jakob Robinson and DL Kevin Givens have been placed on the Injured Reserve List, designated to return.

WR Brandon Aiyuk and S Malik Mustapha have been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List.

WR Demarcus Robinson has been suspended three games by the NFL for a substance abuse violation. The suspension stems from a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor DUI charge. Robinson was clocked driving over 100 mph and refused a sobriety test when stopped by police.
